What is Start Strong
The Start Strong Funding 2025 is a New South Wales Government initiative to make preschool education more affordable and accessible for families. It is part of the broader Affordable Preschool Program, which supports early childhood education in the years leading up to primary school.
What do you get?
Up to $2,174 in fee relief can be granted to families with children aged 4 on or before July 31, 2025.
Families with children aged 3 years old on or before 31 July 2025 can receive up to $515 in fee relief.
The funding is in addition to CCS rebates.
How to apply
Once you enrol at Rise & Shine Kindergarten, our team will provide you with an application form to complete. Once the Start Strong 2025 form is completed our team will apply to your account on a fortnightly basis.
Please note
You can only receive Start Strong at one childcare service.
You need to be enrolled for 600 hours or more to receive the grant.
Enrol and commence at the start of the year to receive a full year of funding.

Case Studies
Case Study 1) Family A have a four year old at Rise & Shine Kindergarten Blacktown who attends four days per week. Family A receive 90% CCS and are eligible for $2174 of Start Strong funding. Family A’s daily out-of-pocket expense is $12, their weekly out-of-pocket expense is $49. This including a 5% withholding.
